    IN THIS ISSUE
Cover Article: 2009 Train Mountain Triennial was a great success despite the tragic loss of its founder and the disastrous economic crisis. It was the largest Vol 13#3live steam event in the world since the last Triennial. The sense of community and solidarity during the meet was inspiring.
Learn about the successful creation of the Yuma Territory Live Steamers club in Arizona. In two short years the group has incorporated, received non-profit status from the IRS, raised funds for insurance, purchased rail and equipment, and given rides to the public on portable track. They are currently starting to lay permanent track, after successful negotiation with the cit of Yuma for use of Riverside Park.
Then we learn of the success story of a vendor who has improved the look of a lot of models from all over. Connie Miracle is the owner of Miracle Railroad Products. What began as a one-time request from her husband has turned into a thriving enterprise.
Our friend Colin Fleetney returns with another poignant reminiscence. His flowing prose paints the portrait of a youngster in the late 1940’s. He makes a very successful run with a coal fired steamer on a cold day in January.
We also have the anticipation of a success story as we learn about the proposed Utica Chenango and Susquehanna Valley narrow gauge railroad in upstate New York. A couple of local entrepreneurs purchased miles of old Lackawana right-of-way. We think you’ll enjoy learning the history of the line and their hopes for the future.
